Another update post

AGAIN, my poor neglected blog takes a beating. But hey, you gotta take what you can get these days.

So here it goes.

We visited the zoo with Sara and the boys. Be sure to check out the video of Ethan dancing, it's hilarious.

That tiger was looking straight into Ethan's eyes. It was pretty cool.

 

Before Christmas the kids and I had a group on to use. We went and painted pottery and I made an ornament with the kids handprints.

The kids sat on Santa's lap this year for the first time. Belle decided that she's a believer. 

Then Christmas came. We did the usual rounds with the Freshours and the Richmonds. 

No idea why its blue.

Notice Belle with my old bear Penny. I'm glad to see that Penny has lived long enough to see another life.

I'll be honest, I can't remember if we did this before or after Christmas. I think it was before, but whatever this post doesn't have to be in chronological order. =)

We went to Big Splash Adventure in French Lick with the Killingbecks. Unfortuntately they had to go home in the middle of the night and I didn't get any pictures with them. I hope we can all try again some other time. The kids had a blast though and it was never too crowded. We'd definitely go again.

During all this madness, we still do school. Science is still the fav here.

Learning about Solar Eclipses

Sometimes mommy makes gak and calls it science class.

One weekend we decided to take the kids roller skating. The kids got roller skates from Mimi and Poppy and they wanted to try them out. Belle took right to it, but Ethan didn't. We had to haul him around the floor and it was a killer arm workout. So we decided to take the kids to skating lessons. It is only $3 a lesson with no commitment. After one lesson Ethan was off. No getting him off the rink now.

The kid is off and going all by himself.

Since roller skating went so well we gave ice skating a shot. The kids loved it and once again it was hard to get Ethan off the ice.

And while my kid is pretty special. Don't read this and think that I think my kid is perfect. Oh lordy, this kid can also push my buttons, be defiant and be an all around turd.  But he's still pretty cool.

I was looking back on my pictures and videos and I'll have to admit that there is a lot of Ethan. I won't feel bad about it though because I've realized that I have hardly any photos of Ethan up in the house. He's 4 yrs old! And while looking at Belle's memory box, I realized I kept every little scrap of anything while I have hardly anything in Ethan's. So this post is all about Ethan.

I think 4 has been a big year for Ethan so far. He's grown so much. He's doing new things everyday. He has got to be the sweetest kid too. Or atleast he is to me, this boy LOVES his momma. He is CRAZY about superheroes as well and he knows just about every one. Ethan tolerates school most days but sometimes he'll ask to do it. Mostly he'll color, work on his math books or play games on the computer. Ethan even surprised us recently by being able to spell simple CVC words while we were sitting at a restaurant. He just started writing words like "cat", "dad" and "sun". And on some days he even will try to read. So far he's only read book 1 of the Bob Book set which has sentences like "Mat sat on Sam".

I'm excited to see how this crazy, energetic, loving, wild boy grows up. 


I found this video from the fall and couldn't remember if I blogged it. Belle can't even do the monkey bars yet.

And he certainly moves to his own music. He is so cute, I can't stand it!

I wanted to remember his little man hair. I called his his presidential do. We were growing it out to see if his cowlick would lay down. It only worked with massive amounts of gel. I still liked it.

He decided to write "Cat n the hat". I helped with the word "the".
